Waiting for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
It is almost one month until the last installment of the ever popular Harry Potter series comes out - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
If you would like to visit a really cool site click on over to J.K. Rowlings official site.
I am looking forward to it. I am almost on the edge of my seat so I hope it is better than the Sopranos finale.
How will J.K. Rowling end the series?
What is going to happen? I am sure every Harry Potter fan has a guess as to what might happen in the final book. Of course, there will be surprises. Rowling has surprised me with every book so far so I really have no clue what to expect.
I wouldn’t be surprised if either Sirius (Harry’s Godfather who “died” in book five) or Dumbledore (the Head Wizard of Hogwarts who died in book six) will come back. When Sirius died he went into a mysterious archway in the Ministry of Magic and never came back?? Why can’t he come back? Where did he go?
As for Dumbledore, was it really Dumbledore that died? I am not so sure. Rowling has done the old switcheroo before. I think of Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, he was left for dead early on in the series and he showed up later alive and well - maybe even better. It is hard to believe than an old, wise wizard like Dumbledore could be killed so easily.
How about Snape? What is going on there? Dumbledore trusted Snape even though he once was a Death Eater for the Dark Lord. Dumbledore supported Snape over and over when Harry didn’t trust Snape. Was Dumbledore double-crossed by Snape or is Snape and Dumbledore double-crossing the Dark Lord?
My vote in the later. Probably because I love Dumbledore, I can’t imagine the grandfatherly, wise wizard not being in the final book. He is the bridge between wizarding (is that a word?) generations. He knew Voldemort as a young man, when he was Tom Riddle, and he fought him when he became the Dark Lord was gaining power years earlier. How could be so easily eliminated? I just don’t buy it.
(I just went to www.harrypotter.warnerbros.com to view the trailer for the new movie based on book five coming out in July, it looks pretty cool.)
I know the last book will be entertaining and hopefully revealing. This book will be different than the others, where the first six books have always followed the same pattern - opening in the summer near Harry’s birthday, then on to Hogwarts at the end of summer, through the school year and usually ending with Harry and friends heading home for summer holiday - Harry and friends will not be going to Hogwarts in the seventh year. At least that is what Harry said at the end of book six.
I will be counting the days until I have the book in my hand. Despite each book getting bigger I usually whip right through it within a few days (if I have the time to spare and I usually make time) and I plan to share my opinion here.
Feel free to share with me what you think is going to happen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Best Wishes!
