A Prayer for Complete Recovery

This prayer is for a friend of mine, Jane Shurtz, whose son in-law is battling brain cancer. I believe Jon is in his late 20’s. He has been married for four years this July and he and his wife are expecting their first child in August. He has so much life ahead of him. They are staying very optimistic but he has had to take leave from work because he has to be careful not to get an infection.

Please pray for Jon.

Dear God,
Give Jon strength to fight cancer. Help him stay positive and focused on his family. Lord, beat the cancer quickly and easily as only you can, remove it from Jon’s body forever. Give Jon hope and peace and lift him up when he is weak. Thank you God for all you goodness!
Amen.

My One Month Anniversary Blogging

I have been working hard on the last few days learning more about blogging. There is always something to learn. I have been blogging now for one month I have learned a tremendous amount.

I have to tell you it has gone by quickly. I have been so busy absorbing everything I can. I want to be a great blogger but the only way I can get there is by putting in the hard work, right?

I have discovered several blogs that have been very helpful. In the beginning when I read many of the posts on these blogs the information almost sounded like a foreign language. I didn’t know what SEO was or difference between Blogger and Wordpress. It seemed like there were so many choices that I wasn’t sure I could comprehend this world.

The first thing I discovered was how helpful everyone is in the blogosphere. I am impressed with this community. Everyone seems to want to help their fellow bloggers make money, promote their cause or keep them up to date on the latest news whatever it may be.

Here are some of the blog sites that I have found very helpful and friendly.

Steve Pavlina’s blog Steve is a very successful blogger and his blog gives off lots of positive energy. He offers valuable information for new bloggers and everyone.

Problogger by Darren Rowse You will find tons of great tips here on earning money with your blog. The title of the blog is “Helping bloggers earn money”.

John Chow dot com is another very popular blog that offers ways to make money blogging. John is entertaining at the same time and not shy that he is making tons of money blogging. This is a fun blog to visit.

Julie Anne Bonner’s personal blog is one I check in on. I think because I can relate to her. She has great tips on blogging too. I think she is fairly new to blogging but you can see from her post that she is succeeding and it gives me hope.

Get Rich Slowly has given me some good info of the past month. I enjoy checking and see what is going on there.

Be Conscious Now has been a regular spot for me too. I enjoy this blog very much and has been very helpful with creating abundance, joy and peace in my life.

These are just a few of the blogs I have been reading daily. I am coming a crossed more blogs everyday and changing my feeds every week. If you are just getting started these are great blogs to check out.

Enjoy!

You are Good Enough!

Life is a journey. That is not a secret or a new concept. What is today? Just because something has been presented in the past does not mean we do not need to revisit or reinforce those great concepts. Right?

I have read countless books on positive thinking and success principles over the last several years. I enjoyed most of them. I had “a-ha!” moments and I personally grew at other times. Many of those books got me through the dark times I was feeling at the moment. I have to say I always felt like I understood the principles in each book but I did not understand how to use the principles in my life. The writer would instruct to “just change your thinking”.

Recently, I have been asking the Universe, and my husband, what am I missing? How do you just change your thinking? I understood the principles but I did not know how to really use them in my own life. I used them to a point but I still felt like I wasn’t quite there.

The thing that was really stopping me from fulling living was guilt and feeling unworthy of good things. I have had the “I am not good enough” attitude for a long time. Most of my life when I look back. I would tell myself that I wasn’t as good as other people. I think I know where this bad attitude was born in me but I don’t want to talk about it because I believe now that it would only give it more power.

Most importantly I am changing that attitude. I am changing my self talk to positive things. I am worthy of success and money and love. I am great! Life is great!

I have to tell you it feels great. I am finding that the things I am seeking are coming to me. If I am looking for an answer to a problem, when I say the problem out loud within a day I have an answer.

Try it yourself. BELIEVE the answer is out there and it will come to you quickly and easily!

Best Wishes!

What do you think of my new theme?

I am playing around with a couple new themes. I would like something a little more colorful than the green theme I started with.

This one created by Nurudin Jauhari is very colorful or at least bright, and I love flowers, so this one seems to fit my personality. There are a few things I want to add and move around but otherwise I think it is a keeper.

That is the thing about themes, it seems you find one you like but there is always something that doesn’t quite work. I found a few others that I liked but for some reason they didn’t quite fit me.

I do appreciate all the work that has been put in to this theme and all the other that I liked. Work that I didn’t have to do and they look very professional.

Well, this one will stick for today. I hope it makes everyone feel happy.

Best Wishes!

Fall in Love at the Library

Do you love to read? I love to read. This is something fairly new to me because when I had to read in school I hated it. I would try to read an assignment in college and when I finished not one word sunk into my head. I would wait for the teacher’s discussion in class. Later in my college career I wouldn’t even attempt the reading assignments because I already told myself it wouldn’t sink in (more of that negative self talk).

I don’t know what changed but about four years ago I started devouring books. I felt like I was at a point in my life where I needed to do something to advance myself but I didn’t have the money or resources to go to college. The public library popped into my head and I headed there right away. My motto became, “If I have a question the answer is at the library.”

I would think of a topic and search it. I found so many wonderful books that helped me when I didn’t know which way to turn. I found the library consoling when I lost my dad. When you go through loss you have so many questions and most people don’t want you to talk about your loss. They think they are doing you a favor. I was able to find strength and answers at the library.

I have a great library only a few minutes from my home. If a book I am looking for is not at my library then it usually is somewhere in the district, which consists of 10 or 15 smaller libraries. I can request a book from a district library and within a couple days (usually one or two) I can pick the book up at my library.

I got my husband into reading about three years ago. He hurt his back and reading was the one thing he could do while laying a crossed the bed in pain. Now we both visit the library weekly. We can be spotted at the library at least twice a week, sometimes three times a week.

I have 23 books checked out right now. I have one fiction book, a couple books on home improvement ideas, a blogging book, a website promotion book, a few self help books, an autobiography, a book on spiritual connections and a few others.

And, I have to admit some of those 23 items are movies. We borrow DVDs and VHS tapes from the library too. We don’t always get the latest releases. We have to put those on hold and wait but it is free and we borrow the movies for 7 days. You can’t beat that. We used to spend a lot of money renting movies because we tend to watch movies more then television.

I have been able to read so many books that I probably would not have read if I was purchasing them.

The library is an adventure. If you haven’t visited your local library lately get there soon. You will discover the library is not the library you grew up with!

Best Wishes!
