The Joy of Dial Up

Today when I got to work my modem was showing a red light. I knew it wasn’t a good sign. After some unplugging, restarting, and checking a phone call was made to AT&T. Of course, the modem is dead. The modem wasn’t even 2 years old yet.

I started to get upset but I reminded myself that “problems” are actually opportunities. So, during the phone call with AT&T it turned out that they could upgrade my internet package and send a modem for a third of the cost of a new one. So, in the end I will be saving $10 a month plus the discount on the modem. It’s all good!

I have to wait three days for the new modem to show up so I have to use dial up. Wow! I forgot how much “fun” dial up is. I have been spoiled the last two years surfing on DSL. To log in to Wordpress took three times as long as usual. I usually can have several different sites loading at one time but I dare not overload the modem so I am trying to do one at a time. That is hard because when I am waiting for one page to load I want to go open another. Hopefully, I don’t get to used to this before the new modem arrives.

All of you dial up-per’s out there, God bless you!
