Let Go of the Past and Forgive Yourself

We are all on a journey on earth. Whether you choose to be on your journey consciously or not is always up to you. Consciously (to me) means that you live life pro-actively not reactively. You can be tossed about by the waves of life or we can rise above and ride on the tops of the waves for a glorious view.

Life is about choices. Only you are in charge of the path your life takes. If you are thinking, “No, I am where I am because of my children, or my husband, or my parents, and so on.” You are not taking responsibility for the choice you made to let those people be in charge of your life. You are letting the waves toss you about.

If this sounds like you, fear not, you can improve your life. You don’t need any drugs and there is no fad product to buy to make your life better. You have all the tools you just need to learn how to use them. I recommend you take responsibility for your choices and then forgive yourself. Tell yourself that you made the best decision you could make at the time. You take responsibility now and make great decisions for a happy life.

I forgive myself, my past choices were the best I could do based on the information I had at that time.

I am now making great decisions to live a happy life.

Once you have forgiven yourself and let go of guilt and other toxic feelings you will feel much better about yourself.

If these sounds like affirmations, they are. It is so important to have positive self talk. If you are saying negative things to yourself and about yourself constantly you are not going to feel good ever. You must love yourself and treat yourself as you would want others to treat you. You are the best you there ever will be, become your biggest fan!

I have been on a journey for years to find why everything had become so hard in my life. I had literally felt like I was living in a hole. I observed people enjoying life and I felt angry. I couldn’t put my finger on why I was feeling so sad and angry. I read book after book after book on improving my life but I couldn’t get the dark feeling out of my belly no matter what I did.

Recently I read about, Miracle Prayer, that helped me release myself. I forgave myself for choosing to give control of my life to someone and something else. I chose to do it years ago. I even remember saying I am letting So-and-So take control. From that moment on my life was not on my path. It felt awful at times. Over the past eight years (long time, huh?) there have been many happy times but as far as the direction my life was going I felt like I was being drug behind a truck on a gravel road (painful? You bet!).

In January of this year I made a promise to myself that I would stop the truck and get back in the driver’s seat. It has taken seven months to get the truck stopped. I am now climbing in behind the steering wheel.

I forgave myself for making that choice years ago. I am letting go of the past eight years. My self talk is of love, worthiness, peace, joy, happiness, and forgiveness. It is so positive and warm. With meditation and prayer I am creating and manifesting a new path. It feels great and I am EXCITED to be alive!

Miracle Prayer, the New Bible

(This post was originally posted on July 18, 2007, due to technical difficulties I had to delete it and repost it on July 20, 2007)

I have read The Secret and about twenty (if not one hundred) books on changing your thinking, thinking positively and acting as if you have everything you ever wanted. All these books tell you that by shifting your thinking you can change the entire world you live in.

It is all true. But if you are like me thinking, believing and doing doesn’t always come easy. You get stuck in the groove of your past thinking and praying and can’t seem to pull out of the groove. (Funny, I know this example was used in one of many books that I read.)

Since reading The Secret about a month ago, like the writer, Rhonda Byrne, I have been on a quest to really understand The Secret. Why does it work, what is at the root of the Law of Attraction. I know I have used the Law of Attraction in positive ways in my past (unfortunately mostly negative ways). Now I can identify when I used the law to bring exactly what I wanted into my life consciously, and the negative things I really didn’t know I was attracting unconsciously.

Over the past month I have asked for more info and it has poured into my life. One of the most exciting books I have come a crossed is Miracle Prayer by Susan Shumsky, D.D. It has been the book that really connected everything for me. This book goes further than The Secret by explaining spiritually and scientifically how the Law of Attraction works and how you can change your thinking (and life) through prayer that works.

All prayer works, don’t get me wrong, but are your prayers really bringing about the change you want? This book will help you really pray for what you want and align you with God and your divine plan.

I am a library lover. I borrow all my books from the library. Some books that I really enjoy I borrow over and over again. I like Miracle Prayer so much that I am buying it, and The Secret, too. I know that these books were attracted to me and I am so thankful. I am going to use them everyday.

Miracle Prayer gives you affirmations and prayers to help you break negative thinking. It gives you a nine step plan to create your own scientific prayers to get what you want most in life. I was stuck in negative thinking patterns. Even when I was thinking positively I couldn’t get past my past. This book is helping me now.

I Am living in the NOW. Miracle Prayer got me out of my groove! By changing a few words in my prayers and self talk my energy level has increased to levels I have not felt in years and I am realizing my dreams NOW. It is so exciting and incredible!

This book breaks through the laws of society. Miracle Prayer teaches that we do not have to live in world ruled by the “Rich Get Richer, Poor get Poorer.” Believe and know that we are all rich and we are all getting RICHER! If we all change our beliefs we would not live in a world of poverty. I can see now how we have fallen into negative patterns and beliefs it is all around us. Labels are applied and we believe them.

I hope you will read Miracle Prayer and enjoy it as much as I am. I don’t think it replaces the Bible or any other religious scripture but it is a great companion.

Blessings Are Yours!

Eager for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I am eager to get my hands on the seventh Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am on a list at the library to be one of the first to borrow the book on Sat. It depends if the library gets the entire order or even half of it.

I have read all of the books in the past few years. This is the first time that I am waiting with all the fanatics to be the an early reader. I want to know how it ends, that is the point of reading all the books, right? To get to the finale and have all the answers?

Life isn’t really like that is it? We don’t ever get all the answers or we don’t always understand the answers life gives us as I stated in my blog yesterday.

A writer like J.K. Rowling gets that. Her story is not a happy, little princess story (and they lived happily ever after). It is a story about real life in a fantasy world. I expect the characters will grow and they will have understanding of life but they will not be unscathed.

I am eager to see where J.K. Rowling ends the story. What will the message be? I like to think that Harry will live and overcome evil but be changed forever, much like Frodo in Lord of the Rings. I do anticipate this book to be darker than all the others. I am always surprised, often what I think will happen does not.

I will know in a few days until then if you have a guess on how you think the series will end please share!
